Opened in autumn 2015, the Grand Ferdinand Vienna – Your Hotel In The City Center is located right on the Ringstrase boulevard in the center of Vienna and offers a rooftop pool, 3 restaurants, and free WiFi access. The City Park and the Vienna State Opera are within a 5-minute walk.
The puristic rooms feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safe, a mini-bar and wooden floors. Adapting to modern guests' lifestyle and preferences, all rooms come with an open-plan bathroom and instead of a wardrobe they feature hangers only.
Breakfast is served in The Grand Etage, a restaurant operated for hotel guests exclusively located at the rooftop and boasting breathtaking views and a rooftop pool. Further snacks and meals are available on site at the Gulasch & Sohne restaurant, ideal for a quick meal or at the Meissl & Schadn restaurant which serves local classic cuisine.

The urge to transform something grand into an experience gave me pause as I passed by the former headquarters of Veitscher Magnesitwerke AG on Vienna's magnificent Ringstrase. The building belonged to one of Austria's great businessmen, Karl Wlaschek – and unfortunately he didn't survive to experience its transformation. With three clear ideas, my wish was to breathe new life into the landmarked building dating from the 1950s.
