The country does not cater for mass tourism and this is reflected in its relatively low Coastal Tourism Density at 485 tourists per coastal kilometre and one of the lowest overall marine estate pressures at 0.3 people per square kilometre.

While the Seychelles has high scores for biodiversity and leisure activities, its scores are lower for sustainable water, wastewater and solid waste management, as well as availability of drinking water and sanitation.
