AGRICULTURE, TOURISM AND CULTURE

The gentle landscape, the elegance and comfort of the interiors, and the hospitality that harks back to ancient traditions, come together to make the Borgo della Marmotta the ideal location for discovering Umbria.

The bell towers of the St. Christopher’s Church rise high in the hamlet of Poreta, the location of Borgo della Marmotta Farm Resort. The origins of the village date back to the seventeenth century, and its unique charm has remained constant over centuries. An attentive restoration was recently completed, thus returning it to its full original charm.

The architectural details, which have been recently brought back to the surface of this tiny village are evident. The square and stables, the sheepfold, the mill, the granary, and the great outdoor courts, were all once essential tools for life in the countryside.

Today these areas, abandoned until recently, have sprung back to life in a different form. Thus, surrounded by history and spirituality common to many places of the 'hidden Umbria'.
