- an amazing story -
Nyoman was born in Sidemen and grew up in a very poor family which meant that he did not have the opportunity to go to school. As he got a bit older, he moved Lombok and worked at a laundry service to earn money to pay for his tuition! After completing high school, he eventually went to University where he studied English language. In the years that followed, he would teach English in the mornings and pick up tourists to guide them around Sidemen in the afternoon! He really enjoyed getting to know travellers and showing them the other side of Bali. Soon enough, he could call himself the first tour guide in Sidemen! It was clear that travellers were amazed by the beauty of his village and its surrounding area, which gave him the idea of offering them a place to stay for the night at his home – he finally started to earn some money through his tours!
